The Performance Fundraiser to Pair Cats with Senior Citizens was a GREAT SUCCESS!
posted 23 Apr 10$185 was raised via entry fees and raffle sales!
It was a full house at The Music Cafe in Damascus, MD! Aliya, our very own Concert Promoter, set up the area to collect donations and distribute the raffle tickets and prizes. She is also the one to thank for making the arrangements with The Music Cafe for us to use their space! Way to go, Aliya!
Lena was our Raffle Ticket Maven! She was busy most of the evening collecting money and tearing off tickets as the MC tempted the audience with the fabulous prizes. Thank you, Lena, for your hard work!
The MC extraodinaire was Jaclyn. With little preparation and lots of notes written on her arms (!), she introduced the bands, got us excited about the raffle prizes, and generously thanked the donators and the cooks!
And who were the musicians?
The 1st band to perform was Tasting Waves: Cedric, Jacob, and Joshua playing "Second Chance" by Shinedown. Great job, gentlemen! Rumor has it that they've got a couple more songs being worked out for next time! Be sure to be there!
Maya fabulously performed a solo of an Avril Lavigne song! She was awesome and we look forward to hearing her again! She plays the guitar, the cello, and she sings!
Guest performer Emilee shared original tunes that were thought-provoking and entertaining! She had us all laughing! Thanks, Emilee!
Casey, Christopher, and Elijah of Visible Sound rocked us with the likes of The Who and the Rolling Stones. What fun! The house was clapping hands and singing along!
And, of course, a concert is no fun unless there is an audience! Thank you to all who came! It was great to see so many RJ members, past members, and our families and friends in attendance!
