I’ve just now had a chance to catch up on all my e-mails and wanted to introduce myself to all the new community members.

I have a 13 year old son, a 10 year old daughter, and a 5 year old son. There are other 3,4 & 5 year old members. Please come and bring your little ones!

We often have a preschool “class” which is mostly about doing craft projects in the afternoons on Thursdays in Germantown. When the weather is nice, we often go for a hike to the creek or the kids play outside. If we had enough little ones, we could organize more structured activities for them, like cooperative games, art projects, fun science experiments, nature walks, etc. Whatever the kids seem interested in and whatever we as parents feel like organizing, we can do. RJ has a great space in Germantown with lots of possibilities.

RJ at Champions in Frederick - January 11

RJ will not be meeting at our regular meeting place on Tuesday. We'll be at Champions Billiards in Frederick....

Rhubarb Jam January Membership Deal

Rhubarb Jam (RJ) Homeschooling Resource Center is offering free dues for the month of January

and no membership fee for anyone who joins RJ during the month of January 2011. Here's how it works:

Come to RJ on any or all days that we meet in January (Tuesdays in Braddock Heights and Thursdays in Germantown). Enjoy the camaraderie, classes, games and fun. If you sign up anytime during the month, your January dues are free. If you pay the next 4 months up front, your joining fee will also be waived. That's a $70 value!

RJ is a unique community where members are free to explore learning on their own terms. Members can choose to teach or take classes, play board games, engage in stimulating conversation, play music, explore nature, adapt learning to their interests, and share their knowledge.

Local Magician Dean Burkett http://www.deanburkettmagic.com/ is coming to RJ!

It's going to be a blast! He's going to chop one of us in 2 and wrap someone in rope and have the rope untangle through his/her body! : )
